  • Stokes played a scintillating knock of 99 runs against India in 2nd ODI
  • England gunned down 337 in just 43.3 overs to level series 1-1 on Friday

Star England all-rounder Ben Stokes came up with a hilarious revelation about the men’s cricket team ahead of the second ODI in Pune. Stokes revealed that the England players prefer using feminine deodorants before stepping on the field for matches.

Stokes further said that women’s deodorants “smell better” than men’s deodorants. Stokes also said that the pomegranate scent is his favorite.

“It smells better. The pomegranate one — it’s top drawer,” Stokes was quoted as saying to talkSPORT from India.

“I’m not the only one,” Stokes said.

When Laura Woods, Ally McCoist, and Jamie O’Hara, the show’s hosts, laughed and asked about names, Stokes said, “The whole squad.”

Meanwhile, England made a mockery of a 337-run target, courtesy of a six-hitting spree from Jonny Bairstow and Stokes, to level the three-match ODI series on Friday. Opener Bairstow smashed seven sixes and 11 fours in his knock of 124 while Stokes hit 10 sixes and four fours before falling one short of a deserved century as the touring side reached their target with 39 balls to spare.

Stokes pointed out that the most pleasing thing for England was that they didn’t go away from their values as a team during the series-leveling win against India in Pune.

“I think the most pleasing thing for us as a team is we didn’t go away from our values as a team. We were bitterly disappointed after the first ODI. Great chase and happy we were able to go over the line fairly easily despite India putting up a big total. Better wicket to be honest but we don’t really fear any totals to be honest,” Ben Stokes said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
