Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni unveiled the team’s new jersey for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 on Wednesday. The former India captain, in a video shared by the franchise, unboxed the jersey to share its first glmipse with fans and followers.
CSK have certainly come up with a revamped look for their jersey as it is featuring a new camouflage design on the shoulders. The camouflage design is a tribute to the Indian armed forces. CSK have done away with the red and blue stripes near the shoulders., who is an honorary Lieutenant Colonel with the Territorial Army, will be sporting the new jersey as he will lead the side in IPL 2021, starting April 9.

“The new-look jersey features camouflage as a tribute to India’s armed forces and three stars atop the much-loved franchise’s logo,” CSK said in a statement.
“It has been on our mind for some time now to find ways to raise awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces. The camouflage is an appreciation of their service they are the true heroes,” CSK CEO KS Viswanathan said.

The new jersey also features the logo of CSK’s new shirt sponsor, Myntra. The shirt also has 3 stars above their logo, highlighting the 3 titles they have won so far in the IPL. The trademark roaring lion logo finds it place at the left corner of the shirt.
In a video shared by the franchise, Dhoni urged the CSK fans to start the whistles as he gears up for the new season. “Thala Dharisanam! #WearOnWhistleOn with the all new #Yellove!” CSK captioned the post.
Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals on April 10 in Mumbai.
Dhoni had arrived in Chennai to lead a training camp with the likes of Ambati Rayudu and other local stars who were available to take part in the camp. Dhoni was seen getting into the groove during the net sessions in Chennai. Notably, former BCCI presidenthad trained indoors in the morning and outdoors in the evening at the camp in a bid to get ready for the new season.
CSK will be shifting their camp to Mumbai as they begin their campaign away from their home. Notably, no team will be playing at its home venue this season. Dhoni, along with Indian players who were part of the camp in Chennai, are likely to leave to Mumbai on March 26 wherein they will undergo quarantine before resuming training.
